When a half-ton runs out of payload, Greater Portland contractors move up to a Silverado HD. The 2500 HD is the all-rounder - trailer during the week, plow from December to March. The 3500 HD adds axle and spring for trucks that carry a service body, a dump insert or a full bed of material every day.
We stock new HDs in WT spec for the job site and in LT through High Country for owners who drive the truck home. If nothing in our current inventory matches your build, tell our commercial team what you need.

Quirk carries BOSS HTX, DXT, XT and EXT snowplows and VBX spreaders - find the right plow for your truck, then talk to our team. All BOSS snowplows come with a two-year parts and labor warranty.

Start with what the truck carries, not what it tows. If the bed holds tools and the occasional load, the 2500 HD is plenty. If a body, a plow and material all ride on the truck at once, the 3500 HD's extra axle and spring rating is what keeps you legal. Tell us the body and the load and we will check the rating of the actual truck.
The Duramax earns its premium when you tow heavy most days. For a truck that runs a service route with a body and a moderate load, the 6.6L gas V8 usually costs less to buy and to maintain. We stock both.
Quirk carries BOSS snowplows - HTX, DXT, XT and EXT models - and VBX spreaders, and all BOSS snowplows come with a two-year parts and labor warranty. Ask our team which plow fits the truck you are buying.
Chevrolet's maximums come from one specific configuration - the 36,000 lb figure is a 3500 HD Regular Cab dual-rear-wheel with the Duramax, and the 19,080 lb gas figure is also a 3500 HD. Cab, bed, drivetrain and engine all change the rating, so we will confirm the rating of the exact truck before you buy a trailer to match.
